Molecular genetics of neuropsychiatric disorders.
Dr. Saffen's main research direction is the molecular genetics of neuropsychiatric diseases. He has successively presided over two projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and two leaders of national 973 projects. In recent years, Dr. Saffen has been devoted to studying the influence of genetic variation on complex neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, autism, Alzheimer's disease and drug addiction by imbalanced high-throughput allele expression of disease candidate genes Sequencing analysis, and systematically studying changes in candidate gene combinations and pathways to find molecular markers that are more biologically meaningful, efficient and viable, revealing the molecular genetic mechanisms of complex neuropsychiatric disorders.
